Visit to Uncle Billy's/First Caps Away Game

Friday we drove down to Raleigh, North Carolina to stay with Uncle Billy for the weekend. Ryan, Lucas, my mom and I made the drive down. Lucas did really well in the car. He had a couple moments when he had enough of his carseat, but for the most part he was a good passenger.
We arrived and proceeded to go out to dinner. We met up with some of Billy's friends at a pizza place near by. Lucas was very well behaved. The strangest thing happened to us at the restaurant. I really wish we had the camera to take a picture. While we were waiting for our food, this random man came up to Ryan with a pickle spear on a plate and asked, "Would your baby like a pickle?". Totally random. The guy, who turned out to be the manager of the restaurant, said all of his four kids loved pickles and he likes watching babies eat them for the first time. So we indulged him and let Lucas have a taste of the pickle. He loved it! Go figure. Anyway, we enjoyed our dinner and Lucas also tried pizza crust for the first time. He was a fan of that too.

Getting ready for bed back at Uncle Billy's

Saturday, we watched NCAA basketball. Billy invited his friends over in the afternoon for a cookout and a little pre-gaming. Unfortunately, we weren't very good at taking pictures of Lucas with his new NC friends. He got to meet Josh, Jess, Jay, Scott and Asheley. Scott's parents also stopped by. Lucas was very scared of Scott's dad, maybe it was a the mustache.
Testing out to see if the Revive cooler is baby size

Check out my new bib and that sour face....I'm not going to get any ladies that way.
After a nice pre-game nap, Lucas got in his Caps gear to get ready for his first away game.
Billy lives within walking distance of the arena where the Carolina Hurricanes play.

The whole crew before the game in our Capitols gear.
Rock the Red!

Unfortunately, the Caps lost 4-1 and overall didn't play very well. But we still had a good time. It would have been a lot better if they won. I was surprised at the amount of people there who had on Caps gear. The best part was all we had to do was walk home. No worries about getting stuck in parking lot traffic.

Lucas had a really good time visiting with Uncle Billy and his friends in North Carolina.
He is looking forward to his next road trip down there.
Maybe next time we'll get to go to Duke and Cameron Indoor Stadium!

We did the pickle thing last Friday. Brooke makes the same face with any new food, or maybe it's just what we have her try (pickles, limes, lemons, oranges). And, by we, I mean I, it is me, not my husband who makes her try those nasty tastes! Glad we are blog friends!
