Today was Maria's first day of baby school.
Ryan's parents were spending the entire week vacationing in Ocean City
and I start back to work full time next week (deep breath!), we needed to send Maria to school.
She is going to be in the infant room at the same place that Lucas goes to school.
Everyone there already knows her because she has been coming with me to pick up Lucas.
The biggest shock to our system is the sticker shock of having 2 kids in daycare.
We are so thankful and fortunate that Ryan's mom was able to watch Maria throughout the summer.
Not only did this mean quality time with her granddaughter, but it meant we could financially manage to let me go part-time. For me, that transition period between coming back from maternity leave and going back to work part time has been a life/sanity saver for me. Win-win!
Can't you tell she's excited for her first day of school!?!
Of all mornings, she decided she would take this morning to sleep in.
When I left for work, she was still asleep.
Check out the time on clock- 8:26am.
Usually Ryan is trying to leave out the door by this time.
Ryan sent me a text message that said "I guess she's going to be late on her first day of school.".
Once Ryan did get her up and dressed (the outfit was laid out the night before), it was time for the first day of school photo shoot.
Thank you, Ryan, for documenting this for me!
"Let's take a serious one first"
"Who are we kidding, we're not that serious!"
My new favorite picture
"You ready for school, Sister?"
"Whoa, whoa Mr. Sunshine, back-up, I haven't had my morning bottle yet."
Lucas gets the photo credit on this one
Solo pic of the first day of school girl
This photo shoot is officially over!
When I went to go pick her/them up from school that evening,
they said she did great.
They'll have to work on getting her on everyone else's schedule, but that will come with time.
Did we mention we thinking she is starting to cut her first teeth?
I'm sure they love us for sending a teething baby on her first week of school.
