Also known as the day that Lucas got made into a pin cushion. My poor baby. In the morning, I took Lucas to his 2 month check-up. He got a clean bill of health, for the most part.
Weight: 13 lbs
Length: 23 3/4 inches
We knew he would have to get 4 immunizations and I went in mentally prepared for that. He was quite the brave little guy. He cried for about 30 seconds then went back to smiling and cooing at me. No problem.
I mentioned to the doctor that we thought Lucas' eyes still didn't look very white, more of a yellowish gray color sometimes. She decided to order bloodwork. Yes, bloodwork.
We went down the outpatient lab. In order to get all the blood they needed for the tests that were ordered, he got stuck twice in his heal (at least 35 minutes of blood curdling screaming and me sweating), tried to draw from one arm (couldn't find the vain, no success) and finally were able to get what they needed from his other arm. He left all bandaged up, looking like a wounded warrior. My brave little man will have no memory of this day, but his mommy will. Definitely one of the hardest days so far.
He slept the whole way home. When he woke up, he was his happy, smiley self. Reminding Mommy just how resilient these little babes can be.
