C-A-P-S!

Mindi & Adrian weren't able to make it to the Caps game on Sunday,
so we were able to make use of their tickets.
I had ordered Caps gear for Lucas (he needed an upgrade in size since last season),
but it didn't arrive in time for him to wear it to the game.
We bought him a hat once we got there, so that he had something to wear.
The last time Lucas was at a game was exactly 9 months ago.
Today he is celebrating his 17 month birthday.
The last time we came as a family to the game
he was celebrating his 8 month birthday.
We were interested to see how he would react to the game.
We had been practicing the Caps cheer at home with him.

This is a close game!

Whenever the Caps score, a siren goes off.
Then, of course, people go crazy cheering.
The sudden onset of all the noise scared Lucas.
He would grab his ears and say "Ow, ow", which
in Lucas speak means "Loud".
Afterward, he would ask the crowd to be quiet by putting his
finger to his lips and saying "Shhh".
It was pretty funny to watch,
but I definitely think we'll get him ear protection for when we go back.

Eventhough the Caps lost in overtime,
we still had a great time! It was fun to
watch Lucas' reaction to everything.
Also, I think that's the longest I've ever
seen him sit still (besides being strapped in his carseat)!
