Indoor Pool Adventure

After a couple of crazy weekends, we finally got a chance to have some family time this Saturday.  When the kids woke up from their naps, we decided to go check out the new indoor pool about 20 minutes from our house.  It has a kiddie play area, a therapy pool, as well as diving boards and lap lanes.

Loving the spray spouts & the fact that he can stand in the pool!

The water was the perfect depth for him to be able to walk around.
We were all able to swim together.
I sat down in the water with Maria on my lap.
She LOVED the water & was splashing away to her little heart's content.
Working on swimming (with his feet touching the bottom)

He loved going down the frog slide.
We just had to work on him standing around at the top & not holding the line up.

Using his muscles to pull himself out of the pool.

All the water you see is either 1ft or 2ft deep
There are 2 slides next to where this picture is taken

Buckets that dump water on you & the beginning of the 3ft water
We didn't really venture onto that side of the pool too much.

We took a couple of breaks to keep the kids from getting too cold.
They even had life jackets there in children's sizes.
Lucas put on a life jacket and swam around in the big pool with Mommy for a while.

We ended up in the therapy pool during the last part of our swim
The water is heated a little bit more and by then we were trying to keep the kids' lips from turning blue.

We had a great time!  What a wonderful way to spend a chilly Saturday afternoon/evening!
We enjoyed dinner at Salsaritas afterwards.  We stopped at Redbox to get a movie once we realized both kids had zonked out in the car.  When we came home, Ryan and I enjoyed an entire uninterrupted movie (we can't remember the last time that happened!) as Lucas and Maria slept.  Hooray!
