Memorial Day

We were excited to have our first pool day of the season today!

Ryan's mom and dad worked hard this week to get the pool ready.

Fortunately, we had great weather. It was actually really HOT!

We spent the morning getting pictures taken at the Picture People

(also known as Ryan's personal hell!) and waited forever to get our pictures.

When we left, I was a happy lady with my newly framed pictures of my two beautiful children. (will post pics of that later)

Lucas fell asleep on the way home.

So we went home, gathered all our pool gear and went over to Grandmom & Dobby's for a swim.

This year, we decided to give Lucas a swim vest.

So armed with his new McQueen swim vest, new suit, hat & water shoes,

Lucas was ready to hit the pool.

We reminded Lucas of the pool rules.

I'm sure he'll need plenty of reminders this year.

Glad to open the pool. Can't wait for all the swimming we're going to do this summer!


After we got waterlogged, we changed and went in to eat dinner.

After dinner, Grandmom had a special treat for Lucas.

Since tomorrow is his birthday, we sang to him & officially started the birthday festivities.

Wow- he blew out the candles on the first try! Great job, Mr. Almost 2 year old!
One of his new favorite treats is pudding (or as Lucas says "pudin'").

That kid can devour some pudding.
Grandmom had made a banana pudding treat and

Lucas was happy to eat some for dessert!

Is it really the end of May already-

Tomorrow begins the month of birthday craziness!
